As a Dutch artist, I am deeply influenced by the way the Netherlands embraces the creation and shaping of its environment. Here, the interplay between architecture and nature is not merely a concept, but a visible reality — landscapes are designed, cities are carefully structured, and water poses both a challenge and a canvas for innovation.

This sense of makeability inspires my work, in which I explore the harmony between modern architecture and the natural world. In my paintings, I depict spaces where design and nature seamlessly come together, offering a glimpse of a world filled with balance, beauty, and contemplation.

The work Cityscapes is a beautiful example of this vision. We see an urban environment formed by buildings and structures. As a symbol of hope, a landscape full of lights in the evening sky is reflected in the windows of the buildings, giving the city a warm, vibrant appearance. Natural elements, such as trees and branches, have been added — branches on the verge of bringing new life with budding leaves.

Cityscapes thus captures not only the beauty of human creativity but also the power of nature, which always finds a way. The work offers a hopeful view of a future in which city and nature exist in harmony.
